Onside Soccer

Established in 2009, Onside Soccer is a dynamic new Christian charity which works through football coaching in the developing world.  Our aims are threefold: 

• to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through sports ministry (mainly football),
• to contribute to the work of social action projects in the developing world via the contact of local churches,
• to disciple and educate tour participants through a structured programme of interactive daily talks, bible studies and practical application focusing on social justice, poverty and international development from a Christian perspective.

Onside Soccer has a long term commitment to the areas and people we work with.  Our aim is to invest in the children and young people we coach, not just as players but as people and to help them reach their full potential. 

Benefiting the communities we visit:

Working in conjunction with local communities, Onside Soccer gives children and young people the opportunity to participate in organised football coaching sessions, games and tournaments. We also work alongside the community in social action projects, such as building projects and business initiatives to try to benefit the whole community.  We believe that by getting alongside the community in a practical way and encouraging people is more effective than throwing money at a problem, which is often seen as the easy solution.  By giving up your time and energy, you are showing your support in a structured, practical way and making a lasting impact, which is something that money alone can never achieve.

Benefiting tour participants:

We want you to be inspired!  Our tours are designed to bring the best out of you and for you to return home wanting to do more.  Onside Soccer has a structured programme that you are invited to engage in every day during each tour, giving you the opportunity to gain deeper insight into the issues you are seeing first hand from a Biblical perspective and to help in a practical way.  We believe that the Bible and teachings of Jesus are absolutely revolutionary and that you have a part to play in God's plan.  Onside Soccer gives you the chance to to experience mission, not just into another culture, but into your own life.
