U.S.A.

Traditionally, in terms of sport, the United States is associated with basketball, baseball and American football.  In recent years, however, soccer  has grown massively in the United States, with the MLS (Major League Soccer) importing some of the biggest names in world football and the US national team regularly reaching the latter stages of international tournaments.  David Beckham famously plies his trade for L.A. Galaxy while Thierry Henry has been playing for the New York Red Bulls for the last couple of years.  The U.S. has also exported some top players in recent years, notably Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley, who both have made a big impression on European soccer.

Onside Soccer has linked up with a fantastic organisation in the United States called Youth Missions International (www.ymimissions.org) who specialise in sending teams of college and university students on overseas mission trips, and also run outreach camps with local churches in the United States, mainly focussing on sports ministry.  During the summer months they run a number of camps in California and Washington state and would love to have you join them!

Flying from the UK, you will join up with the YMI team in Seattle, where you will be briefed on what you will be doing and meet the rest of your team.  You will then go to your destination where you will be participating in a soccer outreach programme with the local church.

Our U.S. trips are not to be missed and the opportunity of a lifetime.  If you would like further details, please contact paul@onsidesoccer.
